Is PocketResume safe to use? Where does my data go?

Your API keys and resume profiles are stored locally in your browser. Nothing goes anywhere except direct calls to the AI provider you chose. PocketResume never uploads your resume to its own servers. Cloud sync is optional, runs on PocketResume's own Clerk-authenticated Convex backend, and stays off until you sign in and turn it on.

Will AI-generated resumes get flagged by ATS or recruiters?

PocketResume is built to avoid AI slop. It rewrites emphasis and keywords from the posting but uses your resume as the only source of facts, so it never invents employers, seniority, or metrics. The built-in Check ATS tool scores your resume against common ATS parser issues and suggests specific fixes, and Refine Resume shows before/after ATS scores so you can see what changed.

How does the AI form filler work?

When you hit an application form with essay questions like 'Why are you a great fit?', PocketResume reads the form, cross-checks every field against your master resume, and drafts answers in your voice: first person, plain words, no AI tells. It never submits or overwrites anything, so you review every answer and hit submit yourself.

Which AI providers does PocketResume support?

Google Gemini, OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini), Anthropic (Claude 3.5 Haiku), OpenRouter, and any custom or local OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including Ollama, LM Studio, NVIDIA NIM, and Groq. With a local model like Ollama, the entire loop runs offline on your machine.

What resume layouts are included?

Four: Professional (clean and traditional), FAANG (metrics-forward, with numbers leading each bullet), Double sided (a dense two-column layout), and Academic CV (full publication history). You pick the layout per application, and every layout exports as a clean, print-ready PDF.

You are responsible for any AI API keys you configure and for the costs incurred with your chosen provider.
You agree not to use PocketResume to misrepresent your qualifications or to submit false information to employers.

Third-party services

PocketResume connects to third-party AI providers that you select. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of those providers.

No warranty

PocketResume is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that any resume will pass a particular applicant tracking system or result in an interview or job offer.
